LIVE: Youth Bible Catholic Edition Review

LIVE: Youth Bible Catholic Edition is the first ever bible created by teens for teens.  Based on the New Revised Standard Version (NRSV), LIVE offers an interactive space not only to read, but to respond to the scripture in a new and dynamic way.  LIVE contains content created by teens, as well as a space to reflect, draw, and interact with scripture.  It includes thought provoking questions and activities that can help teens discover how God is involved in their lives, as well as how they can live out their faith at home, school, parish and community.

What is most exciting about the LIVE Bible is that they can take their creative expression online.  Teens can go online to http://Learner.CalltoDiscipleship.com to upload their faith expressions.  They can upload photos, poems, sketches, etc – whatever writings or image that reflect how God is speaking to them.

The LIVE bible takes a unique approach on discipling teens; they bring the conversation to the web and introduce a multifarious dialogue through creative outlets such as art, poetry, photography and writing.  This encourages teens to express themselves in various ways where they can be themselves and view all their talents as a way of expressing God.  In addition, the Real Questions section untangles confusing texts and questions teens may ask.

LIVE: Youth Bible Catholic Edition does well at guiding teens into a faith that is not only internalized, but lived out at home, the community and the web.  I would recommend this for anyone looking to help teens beginning or looking to grow in their faith journey, as this will lead them to express their faith.
