"No
other homiletical resource provides the motivational spark for igniting a
preaching idea, the theological depth and critical social analysis for
sermon application, as does The Living Pulpit. You can't afford to
preach without it."

Some
preachers still know how to cook a real sermon. Avoiding canned
goods, they select only the freshest ingredients, combining them
inventively and allowing plenty of time for their flavors to blend The
Living Pulpit is designed with those preachers in mind. You won't find
packaged messages in its pages. Bon appetit!"

"Years
of reading The Living Pulpit has given me wonderful insights into biblical
material and some of the key theological questions of our time. On
graduating from Princeton Theological Seminary, Rev. Dr. Eugene Carson
Blake challenged our class by saying, 'Find fresh new ways to tell the
old, old story of Jesus and his love!' The Living Pulpit
helps me to do just that!"

Here is a magazine that is not your
run-of-the-mill preacher's monthly. If you are looking for a periodical
that takes the Sunday pericope and gives you a tidy exegetical spin on
the passage, The Living Pulpit is not that kind of vehicle. If
you want a resource that takes you through the church year and parcels
out homiletical insights, be aware there are other helps in that process
that are available. If you are needing helpful tools to assist you in
the communication process, be reminded that there are other places in
which you can find that kind of support. On the other hand, after having
worked through about two year's of The Living Pulpit, I find that
there hasn't been a single issue in which I did not find sound and solid
exegetical assistance for my preaching; clear and convincing
illustrative material; and profound insights into effective
communication today. If you are looking to The Living Pulpit to
give you something to ‘think about, feel about and do about,' then
here is your magazine.
