I drew this piece in 2007, based on my observation of a baby butterfly looking out into the new world from the inside of the chrysalis. Behind the abstract image, there lies the butterfly’s latent dream to experience beautiful flowers, the rays of the sun, and the fresh air in the open. That indeed represents the yearning to be free. Life on earth may be compared to that of the butterfly inside the chrysalis. Moving about on earth, we live with hope and faith in the kingdom of heaven, where we will be free to sing God’s praise for thousands of years. —Piety Choi
